Western New York is a region well known for its chicken wings, the Buffalo Bills, Tim Hortons, and its crown jewel of tourism, Niagara Falls. It’s a place rich in history, and a blend of culture; from German, Polish and Italian influences from early immigrants to African Americans escaping slavery and the Jim Crow south putting roots down, to the original peoples of the area, the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee.
However, many locals and tourists alike are unaware of the strange and spooky legends and myths that lurk beneath its seemingly mundane facade. Whether it be ghosts, lake monsters, cryptids, UFO’s or Men in Black, the mysteries of Western New York are as diverse as its people.
